Allen, Minnie Gertrude (Light) View/Sign Guest Book ALLEN, MINNIE GERTRUDE (LIGHT), 97, a former resident of Louisville, passed away September 1, 2008 in Terre Haute, IN. She was a member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Franklin Allen in 1978 after 51 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Diann Baysinger (Ernie) and LaGrada McFelia; son, John Allen; sister, Alma Harris; daughter-in-law, Mary Sloas; grandchildren, Jim Dotson, Shannon Blakey, Reene Brooks, Debbie Drescher, David Baysinger, Jerry Baysinger, Cindy Jacobs, Shelly King and Cody Allen. She was known as "Grandma Shortfinger" to her 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Allen's life will be held at noon, Thursday at the Southern Home of Arch L Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to her church.
