Nancy Downs

DOWNS, NANCY JO, 47, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007. She was the former Nancy Jo Kessinger, a native of Munfordville, KY, a retired ophthalmic technician, an avid gardener and a friend to everyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Eugene A. "George" Downs; daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Downs; mother, Virginia Rucker Grady; brothers, Jeffrey Gardner, and Gregory Gardner; sisters, Deborah Davis and Melissa Gardner; one niece; one nephew; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of loving friends. Nancy's greatest reward was in giving of herself to others. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Louisville.
