Nell Smoot

SMOOT, NELL CLAYWELL, 87, passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Norton's Brownsboro Hospital. She was a retired assembly worker at General Electric and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Iroquois Post 229. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby B. Smoot; Her parents, John T. and Mary P. Claywell; five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by daughter, Becky Blacketer (Jerry); sons, Tony Brake (Nadine) and Billy Smoot (Terri); five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Doyle. Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman's. The family wishes to thank the staff of Elmcroft at Oaklawn Shelbyville Rd., Hosparus and the wonderful nurses and staff at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
