Norma Bales

BALES, NORMA JEAN, 81, formerly of Guston, KY, died Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was born April 10, 1932 to the late John "Rob" and Zelma Mae Murray. She was a Kentucky Colonel and taught Sunday school for over 30 years at Guston Baptist Church. Norma was a breast cancer survivor, belonged to Modern Woodmen and loved animals especially cats. She is survived by her husband Larry Bales of Louisville; son Mark (Debbie) Garverich of Guston; two stepdaughters Cindy (Brett) Stockdale of TN and Terri (Ron) Kopp of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kayce Ballenger (Mark) and Andrew Garverich (Lindsey); four step-grandchildren, Brent Scalf, Ryan and McKenna Kopp and Michaela Stockdale. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. EST at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:30 - 6 p.m. EST and after 8 a.m. EST Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy maybe given in the form of donations to the Guston Baptist Church Building Fund.
