Norma Jean (Montgomery) Davis, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Norma was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 23, 1934 to the late Richard and Mary (Roth) Montgomery. Norma loved IU basketball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She worked as an Avon representative for 33 years and a dedicated day care provider for Stringtown Daycare for 25 years where she loved the children as her own. She was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic church. Norma loved her family and friends dearly and never met a stranger.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kirkpatrick of Evansville, IN; sons, Michael Davis of Largo, FL, and Mark Davis of Louisville, KY; sister, Sharon Ann Montgomery of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Melissa, Michael Jr., Jessica, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Bailee, Jaylynn, Austin, Jeremiah, Alexus, Dominic, Michael Jr., Marcelino and Destiny.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Davis; and by her brother, Richard Montgomery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN with Father Paul Ferguson celebrating. Burial will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery East in Louisville, Kentucky where the graveside service will be conducted by Father Terry Bradshaw of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 AM until Mass time on Thursday.
