WIEDMAR, NORMA, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Beloved wife of John for 75 years. She was born June 25, 1919 to the late George and Kathryne Schott (Hettick) and was one of six girls.
Her greatest joy was being a devoted wife and mother and in providing a warm, loving home for her family. She was proud of her homemaking skills and took pride in keeping a clean, tidy house with an open door for anyone needing a home cooked meal. She touched many lives just by being there with a welcoming smile and loving care.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Atkins (Milt), Esther Grant (Jess), Alma Walsh (Joe), Evelyn Godfrey (Bill), and Hilda Newman (Artie).
In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by her daughters, Sr. Mary Johnette, RSM (Marilyn), Sr., and Sharon Ann, RSM; her son, John Jr. (Joan); and her loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris, and Erin, who were her pride and joy.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Bill Godfrey, Caretenders, and Hosparus who showed such loving care for Mom during her last days of life.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, with entombment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway. The family will meet family and friends from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, May 10 , 2013 at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Mass of the Air or Hosparus.
