Odele Bennett

Bennett, Odele,92, of Louisville, has joined her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after working there 37 years. She enjoyed working outdoors at home and at her country home in Indiana. Odele was preceded in death by her husband, James Bennett, Sr.; mother, D. Miller; son, Larry Baggett; father, Hallie Miller; step-mother, Eve Miller and step-brother, Owen Stone. She is survived by her step-son, Jim Bennett, Jr.; cousins, Pat Dressler (Charles), Shirley Roberts, and Joyce Wolf; second cousin, Julie Eckerle (Steve); step-nieces, Debi Porta (Tom), Beverly Breast, and several great-nieces and nephews; step-nephew and care advocate, Raymond Stone (Pat). Others who made her life meaningful are the many loyal friends she had and her neighbors, Tom, Henry and Debra. The family wishes to thank the many professionals that were so helpful to her, Lisa of Stockyards Bank; her attorney, Angela; Dr. Shee and nurse Paula; Heartland Rehab; First Light Staff, and her aid, friend and advocate, Deborah for her excellent care; Julie and Steve for all the calls, visits, and gestures of love. A memorial celebration of Life will be 4 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with private entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
