Pamela Porter-Galloway, 61, loving wife to Mark H. Galloway, passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father Carlos Porter, grandparents, Charles Jacob and Flossie (Tolle) Vettiner and William and Stella Porter and an uncle Paul Wayne Porter.
Pam was a member of Southeast Christian Church, a member of Sigma Kappa from Georgetown College where she was “Outstanding Senior”; she was also a graduate of Sullivan College. She graduated from Doss High School was she was Homecoming Queen.
Pam loved children which lead her to being a social worker. She actually lived at St. Joe’s Orphanage for awhile to help take care of the children there. She was a social worker for the state and she also retired from American Airlines as a ticket agent.
Pam was to begin work at the Louisville Scottish Rite Foundation for Kids Center on Thursday.
Her great-grandchildren, Evvy, Emily, Xander, and Bentley were her greatest joy.
Besides her husband of 28 years, she is survived by her daughter Jessi Galloway, her mother Barbara Vettiner-Porter, siblings, Chuck Porter (Capi), Steve Porter, Laurie Logsdon (David) along with her granddaughter Sylvia and her great-grandchildren Evvy, Emily, Xander and Bentley. She will also be missed by a cousin Becky Walker (Jimmy), her aunt, Pat Vettiner-Dukes, nieces and nephews, Autumn, Carla, Lindsay, and Davie, with 8 great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 12, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Monday from 1 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Louisville Scottish Rite Foundation for the Kids Center, 200 E Gray Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202. (502-584-7483)
