Patrick Thorpe Sr

THORPE, PAT, 68, of Louisville, entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Good humored and personable always, Pat was easy to admire and befriend. Ever involved in his children's and grandchildren's life, Pat developed bonds with each of them. He was involved with his church, enjoyed the company of his friends, loved sports as well as the outdoors. He will be greatly missed. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Thorpe; mother and stepfather, Katherine and John Daily; brother, William "Yogi" Thorpe; sister, Doris Ann LaFollette; and brother-in-law, Gary Abell. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane (Abell) Thorpe; children, Stephanie Toll (Ryan) and Marty Thorpe (Kirstie); grandchildren, Alex and Matthew Thorpe and Ricky and Reece Toll; brother, Michael Thorpe; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Thorpe and Kathy Abell; five nephews and two nieces. A funeral Mass for Pat will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church; 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with entombment to follow at 1 p.m. in Louisville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, from noon - 8 p.m. at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home; 3800 Bardstown Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to either Crusade for Children or Mass of the Air.
