Paul Wayne Schmidlkofer

SCHMIDLKOFER, PAUL WAYNE, 65, passed away June 3, 2012 at his residence, his little piece of Heaven on Nolin Lake. He was with the love of his life, Carrol and his best friend, his little dog FordE when he passed.
He was born and raised in Florence, AL, he served his country, honorably for 21 years ,and retired as a Vietnam veteran, Senior Chief E8, Aviation ordinance man, Command Master Chief of the U.S.S. Saratoga in Jacksonville, FL. After his retirement he pursued career's with the U.S. Postal Service, Directory Distributing Associates as Manager, Swope Toyota of Elizabethtown, KY as Salesman of the Year, Active member of American Legion and VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Ruby( McGill )Schmidlkofer; sister, Glenda Schmidlkofer Harrison; brother, John Glenn Schmidlkofer; and grandparents, Louis (Fuzzy) and Blanch McGilll and his father-in-law, James Robey.
He was survived by his wife of 23 years, Carrol (Robey) Schmidlkofer; son, Jeffrey Wayne Schmidlkofer (Keely); Jeffrey's Mother, Rebecca Schmidlkofer; step-son, Rodney Wheeler (Misty); sister, Lou Anne Butts (Bobby); and four grandchildren, Madison, Carson, Barrett and Daniel, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Wayne had more love for his wife, dog, family and friends than could possible fit in any heart.
Funeral Service: Friday, 11 a.m., Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation, Thursday 2-8 p.m.
