Dr. Paul Aaron Wolf WOLF, DR. PAUL AARON, 82, of Louisville, passed away at his home Sunday April 18, 2010 surrounded by family and friends.
Paul was born in New York City on April 11, 1928, to the late Esther and Irving Wolf. In 1944 he graduated from Bronx High School of Science and later served in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Louisville. On June 12, 1948, he married Julia Marie Dorsett, and in 1954 he graduated from the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine. In January of 1957, he started a medical practice on Preston Highway as a Family Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. He practiced medicine for 36 years before retiring in 1993. Although he never lost his New York roots, he loved the city of Louisville, especially the Okolona area. He was welcomed as one of the first full-time physicians in the area.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Julia; sons, Dr. Bruce , Jeffrey, Eric and Steven Wolf; daughter, Bonnie Sue Wolf-Stringer; stepbrother, Abraham Weiskopf; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and many close friends.
Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 22, 2010 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at Highlands.
