WHITSON, PERRY LEE SR., 97, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011.

He was a member and deacon at Bethel Baptist Church (Anchorage).

He is survived by his children, Jeanette Masden, Willine Greathouse, Jimmie Whitson, Joanne Jones, Tazzie Bailey and Perry Whitson Jr. (Norvetta) ; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at his church, 11612 LaGrange Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-East. Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church. A.D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St. is in charge of
