Johnson, Peter B.,89, of Louisville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. Peter was born in Chicago, IL, to the late Herman and Freda Johnson. He was a retired major of the Army and was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he went on to retire as an inspector for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Peter B. Johnson, Jr. and Mark R. Johnson; step-daughter, Linda J. Silva; step-grandson, Steven Silva; brother, Herb Johnson; and sister, June Johnson. Peter is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Jean (Keown) Johnson; daughter, Kristen A. Johnson; step-sons, Robert N. Taylor and Thomas W. Taylor; son-in-law, Robert Silva; four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. His service will be 12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
