Rachel Hibbs

HIBBS, RACHEL LOUISE (HAMMOND), 72, passed away May 20, 2014. She was a devout Christian and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in South Louisville.She enjoyed shopping at yard sales, cooking for others, planting flowers, talking on the phone and, most of all, spending quality time with her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Louis E. Hibbs; her parents, John and Pauline Hammond; and three sisters, Lorine Goins, Linda Kelley , and Mary Etta Bryant. Rachel is survived by her sons, Timothy and Daryl Hibbs (Debbie); grandsons, Steven (Kate), Matthew (Tory) and Eric Hibbs; great-grandson, James Hibbs; brothers, Marvin, LeRoy, James, and Gary Hammond; sisters, Helen Shepherd and Joan Cheatham; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, members of her church, and friends. Funeral services will be 12 noon on Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
