GRASMICK, RAY JACOB, 82, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born in Louisville, to Raymond and Elsie (Mitchell) Grasmick.
Ray had formerly worked for The Courier-Journal for many years, starting out as a paperboy and then working for the company. Ray was very devoted to his Church, 9th & "O" Baptist Church. His passion was the church bus ministry, which he devoted many years. Around 1970, he founded the Kentucky Church Tours, bus ministry, which he owned/operated until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Diana Grasmick.
Survivors include his children, Jerry Grasmick (Jane), Tina and Laura Grasmick and Alisa (Grasmick) Byerly; three grandchildren, Sean D. Grasmick, Jason Skidmore (Alicia), and Dawn M. Grasmick; two great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Collin Skidmore; two sisters, Doris (Grasmick) Felhoelter and Bonnie Hermann (Darryl); and five nephews.
Funeral service will be noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
