ISON, RAYMOND, born July 18, 1920 passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 and is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
He was an Army veteran of World War II where he was a search light operator at Ft. Drum and was a prisoner of war in the Philippines from 1942 to 1945. He was one of the few survivors of the Bataan Death March.
He was deeply loved by his lifetime sweetheart of 63 years, Sally Ison; son, Danny Ison; daughters, Jean Layer and Patty Gonzales; sisters, Sarah Bowling and Mary Hultz; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Ratterman Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road (Terry Road at the Greenbelt). Internment Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visiting from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday.
