Peak, Richard J. View/Sign Guest Book PEAK, RICHARD J., 79, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. He was a retired employee of C. W. Transport, a Mason, a member of Valley Station Church of God, and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Jane Baker Peak; his children, Richard Lee Peak (Rita), Michael Peak (Sheila), Connie Ewen (Tom) and Brenda Ogle (Dan); seven grandchildren, Todd Freeman, Toby Peak, Misty Hooper, Chad Green, Andy Peak, Seth Green, and Niki Peak; 16 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Hugh Peak (Mable). The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Britthaven, for the love and care that was given to Richard and his family. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday. She was a native of Breckenridge County, and was a retired bookkeeper for the Regional Airport Authority. Sue was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise and Marita Peak; a sister, Gladys Rodgers; and a brother, Joseph C. Manning. Survivors include her husband, David F. Peak Jr.; two daughters, Linda Woodrow (Gerald) and Joyce Gittings (Joe); two sisters, Frances Owens and Laura Mattingly; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martha Church, 2825 Klondike Lane, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8p.m. Monday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd., where a prayer service will be held at 4p.m. Monday. "BILL," 82, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Bashford East Healthcare. He was retired after 38 years of service at LG& E. He was a Navy veteran having served on the USS Alabama during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mabel Peak; his brother, Paul Peak; and sister, Pauline Gorman. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Millie (Shader) Peak; his daughter, Linda Wheatley (Frank); his son, Joe Peak; his brothers, Michael, Donald and Edward Peak; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be noon Friday, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 S. Shelby St., with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellison Avenues.

Peake, Lucy Shain PEAKE, LUCY SHAIN, 94, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the Episcopal Church Home. She was a retired teacher from Jefferson County Public Schools. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was active in many groups as an officer and committee chair, including, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at U of L, Daughters of American Revolution - John Marshall Chapter, Crescent Hill Woman's Club, and the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association - Alpha Delta Kappa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Peake. She is survived by a daughter, Harriet Mays (Charlie); four sons, Gerald T. (Donna), John F., Richard A. (Laurie), and Stephen D. (Andrea) Peake; 16 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman's 3711 Lexington Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church Home Chapel Building Fund.
