AUSTIN, ROBERT M. "GRANNY," 73, of Louisville, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
Bob retired after 37 years from BF Goodrich Chemical Company. He was a deacon at Shively Baptist Church, a member of Shively Masonic Lodge #951 and a Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Agnes Austin; and brothers, William C., John C. and Charles David Austin.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Emmons) Austin; sons, Michael L., Mark L. and Matthew L. (Kelly) Austin; grandchildren, Karis D. Austin-Hardesty, Robert Matthew Austin and Jared and Austin Wiehebrink; brother, James G. Austin (Jenny); uncle, Charles Hill; sisters-in-law Cindy, Mary and Pat Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to our neighbor and friend, Betty Jeffries, for always being there for us.
Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., and Monday after 10 a.m. until his service at 11 a.m. at Shively Baptist Church, 1599 Sadie Lane, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
