Robert Ray Donaway, Sr.

Robert R. Donaway, Sr., 79, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was born to the late Robert and Dessie (Mercer) Donaway, in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 16, 1943.  He is also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Caroline J. (Housmann) Donaway; and brothers, Eugene Willis, Alvie, David, Danny, and Steven Donaway.  Robert was retired from Nugent Sand Company.

He is survived by his children, Robert R. Donaway, Jr. (Krystal), Duglas Housmann (Rhonda), Cutina Dunaway (William), Tina Donaway Haudek and Tammy Donaway Pearson; along with grandchildren, Duglas and Kandyce Housmann, Johnathan and Jacob Dunaway, Bryson and Arabella Donaway, Cain Mattingly, Bradly Mayfield, Alexis Braid, and Isiaha and Isabella Mudd; his sister-in-law, Connie Bugg (Brian); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call on the family on Friday from Noon until 8PM and Saturday from 10AM until service time at the funeral home.
