Robert E. Kepple Sr.

Robert E. Kepple Sr., 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1943, to Harvey and Ruth Kepple in Louisville, Kentucky. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, whose presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A man of few words, Robert’s quiet and reserved nature was balanced by his great sense of humor and warmth. He had a deep passion for his family, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he was the foundation of joy for many.

Robert had another great passion—cars. He was an avid collector and restorer, particularly enamored with classic vehicles. Among his most prized possessions were his 1950 Mercury and 1930 Model A, which he built by hand. His garage was a place of both work and camaraderie, where long conversations flowed with friends, laughter filling the air as they shared stories over the hum of engines and tools.

Though he was a man of few words, Robert’s kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His legacy lives on in the cherished memories of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Kepple and Ruth Wheeler Kepple; brother, Don Kepple; and sister, Betsy Diggs.

Left to cherish his memory, Robert is survived by his loving wife, Linda Harris Kepple; son, Robert E. Kepple Jr. (Patricia); 4 daughters, Christy Anderson (Robert), Lynn Henderson (Doug), Jennifer Miller (Matt), and Julie Hand; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, John Fitzgerald Kepple (Michelle); sister-in-law, Lynn Larson; brother-in-law, Mike Diggs; and a host of extended family and close friends.
