Robert D. Pentecost, 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 10, 2024. Born on July 25, 1950, to Archie and Ila Isabelle Pentecost, Robert was a beacon of love and dedication in the lives of those who knew him.
A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Robert lived his life with unwavering faith and commitment. He was a hardworking, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who could always be counted on. Known affectionately as “Bob the Builder,” he was a true jack-of-all-trades, skilled in a myriad of tasks and always ready to lend a hand.
Robert was blessed with the gift of gab and had a remarkable ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His warmth and friendliness made him a cherished friend and neighbor.
In his spare time, Robert delighted in traveling to Gatlinburg, where he could enjoy the beautiful scenery and find peace. His adventurous spirit and love for life were evident in everything he did.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Robert’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his generosity, his stories, and his enduring spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life; Paula Pentecost, and his second wife; Angela Acree Pentecost. Robert is joining his brother in heaven, Richard Pentecost along with his two sisters who passed as infants.
Left behind to carry on Roberts love and memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Jared and Molly Pentecost, grandchildren, Zoe and Hayden Pentecost. Nephew, Rick Pentecost and family along with his niece Patty Berger and family and his former brother-in-law, Bob Woodward.
Graveside service will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens West on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00am.
