Robert "Bob" Lawson, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Wayne Lawson, Jr., entered peacefully into Heaven on 10/1/2020 with his family by his side.

Bob was born on May 21, 1938 in Louisville, KY to the late Robert Wayne Lawson, Sr. and Pauline Huskey.  He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents (Louvina Lawson and Medford S. Huskey) and a brother, Paul Douglas Lawson.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Valley High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy and became a Corpsman.  After the Navy, Bob held multiple sales positions and retired from J. F. Walker as a sales representative.  He was a loyal member of Briargate Presbyterian Church until his health declined.  He was a jokester and loved playing with his grandchildren.  He was a huge Louisville Cardinal fan and loved attending games when he was able or watching them play on TV.  Bob loved to travel and always wanted to go somewhere.  After retirement he enjoyed being able to travel with Betsy to some beautiful places, Alaska being one of his favorites.  Bob was a proud Kentucky Colonel.  He loved attending family functions and being with his entire family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife of 52 years, Betsy B. Lawson, son Mike (Judy) Lawson of Louisville, daughter, Jenni (Larry) Gaus of Louisville, and son Matt (Mandy) Lawson of Owensboro along with grandchildren, Alex Cundiff, R. J. Lawson, Reagan Herndon, Clayton Lawson, Garrett Lawson, Nicole Peckham and one great-grandson, Adam Cundiff.  He will also be missed by family friend and caregiver, Terri Edwards, as well as, many family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday from 1-5 pm.  Service to follow.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hosparus of Louisville and/or Briargate’s Welcome Table.
