Roger Dean Thomasson

June 24, 1960 — December 16, 2024

Louisville, Kentucky

Roger Dean Thomasson, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 16, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 24, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Wendell and Margaret Thomasson.

Roger lived his life as a true country boy, known for his strong will, infectious personality, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who found peace and joy in working the land, whether it was tending to the farm, operating tractors, or caring for the cattle. His love for the farm and the outdoors was a cornerstone of his life, and it shaped him into the strong-willed man that he was.

Roger was also a passionate fisherman and an avid camper, often taking time to enjoy nature's beauty. His adventures weren't limited to Kentucky, as he made many winter trips to Florida’s St. Johns River, where he enjoyed shrimping and soaking in the warmer weather.

A proud University of Kentucky basketball fan, Roger took great joy in watching games and supporting his team.

Roger’s favorite saying, “A country boy can survive,” perfectly captured his resilient spirit and unwavering determination throughout his life.

Roger is preceded by his parents, Wendell and Margaret Clark Thomasson; and a brother, Stephen Earl Thomasson.

Left to cherish his memory, Roger is survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins who will remember him for his love of family and boisterous personality.
