FINLEY, ROY B., 92, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at The Forum at Brookside.

He was a native of Hart County, a retired millwright with Ford Motor Co. a member of Shively Baptist Church, Plumb Masonic Lodge #862, a former member of Parkland Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II having served with the 1906th Engineer Aviation Battalion in the Philippines and Okinawa.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 60 years, Pauline Thompson Finley; his second wife of 12 years, Dorotha Walters Finley; and a grandson, Michael Thompson.

He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Thompson (John), Barbara Becker (Frank), and Robin Sample; a son, Frank A. Finley (Irene); 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Interment with military honors will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday.
