PEARSON, ROY M. SR., 79, a former resident of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday June 21, 2010 at the home of a daughter in Pleasure Ridge Park, while surrounded by loved ones.
He was a member of Electrical Workers Union Local 369 and was employed and retired from American Standard in 1994. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions of responsibility including Bishop of the English Ward in Marengo, IN, America. He lived in Louisville with his wife and family for over 40 years before moving to Marengo in 1994. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing in his pond and in many lakes around Kentucky and Indiana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Thelma Jean Crowley Pearson; brothers and sisters, Wayne Pearson (Patty), Shirley Mills, Darlene McGlawn, Bobby Pearson; his five children, Brenda Jo Sissel (Greg), Roy M. Pearson Jr. (Ruth), Stephanie Pearson, Paul Pearson (Diane) and Cassandra Wooldridge (Bill); his grandsons, Cameron, Christopher, Collin, Kyle and Mitchell Pearson, Nathan Mattingly, William Wooldridge III and Roger Dunaway (Leslie); his granddaughters, Allison and Madison Looney, Annette Pearson, Tonya Mattingly, Debbie Jewell, Renae Leger (Charlie), Jackie Monnin (Tim), and Shelby Wooldridge. He has 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and friends.
Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his parents, Dewie and Deward Pearson; and his great-grandson, Andrew Jewell.
Visiting is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks, Preston Hwy. at Brooks Road, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Boy Scouts of America.
