STRANGE, ROY C., 77, of Louisville, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Twinbrook Nursing Home.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a retired government relations consultant. Retiring from Chevron in 1984, A.I.K. in 2000 as president and CEO and finally The Glenview in 2009.
He was a very active member of Northeast Christian Church, and spent his time fundraising and promoting 4H of KY, the YMCA of Greater Louisville, and was a founding member of Operation Brightside.
He is survived by his wife Joy Gardner Strange; son, Mark Douglas Strange; daughter, Kelli Kay Marlatt (Charles); sister Virginia Strange Evans; grandchildren, Sean Michael Vandevander, Anthony Alexander Tate, Erin Nickole Vandevander and Brittany Danielle Hollomon.
A memorial celebration will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Northeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY, with a reception to follow, all are welcome. A private burial was chosen.
In place of flowers or any other gifts, the family requests that you please make any contributions to Northeast Christian Church, 9900 Old Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY. 40241, denoted in honor of the Roy Coleman Strange Memorial Foundation. This fund will be established to research Lewey Body Disease and other Dementia related illnesses.
