Ruth Yates

Yates, Ruth Vivian (Cosby),91, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.Ruth was a native of Harrodsburg, KY and a member of 1st Church of the Nazarene. She had retired as a cashier for the Kroger Company.She preceded in death by her husband, James Hendren Yates; and son-in-law, Stanley Boyd.Survivors include her three children, Jamesetta "Jamie" Boyd, Wilson Edgar Yates and David Dwight Yates (Brenda); a brother, Owen Lee Cosby; two sisters, Christine Stone and Mary Ann Carey; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 12: 00 p.m. Saturday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday & after 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
