Sally Tinsley

Tinsley, Sally Jean (Leitch),89, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at Meadowview Health & Rehabilitation. She was born February 6, 1926 in St. Augustine, FL and is the daughter of Jack and Sarah Leitch. She grew up in Miami and moved to Louisville in 1950 where she worked in the food and beverage industry. Over her long career, Sally shared in the success of such Louisville landmarks as: The Brown Hotel's English Grill downtown, Howard Johnson's on Eastern Parkway and the original Casa Grasanti's on East Liberty Street. She later co-owned and managed the Belmont Bar and Restaurant in Louisville's south end.Sally loved the beach. She would return to Florida to enjoy the sun, sand and lighthouses as often as possible. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Sally you would remember, especially her smile.She was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, Arthur Gordon Tinsley and Morgan Hunter Luton.She is survived by her four daughters, Gail Rhine (Kendall), Bobbie Luton, Sara Burd (Terry) and Brenda Schell; a son, Morgan Luton (Traci), brother, John R. Leitch (Jayne), 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Demling, Kendall Rhine (Julie), Michelle Edmonds (Chris), Anthony Rhine, Paula McNiel (Jason), Robert Burd (Brooke). Abby Sanders (Matthew), Ryan Luton, Christopher Luton, and Courtney Luton; two nephews, Robert Leitch (Fran), Joseph Leitch (Anita) and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, April 24, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Endowment Fund at Parrs at Springhurst Pines.The family would like to especially thank the many individuals for their kindness and guidance over the past five years.
