Jones, Samuel Justin Sr.,85, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his residence.He was born in Louisville, KY, to Henry and Emily (Warren) Jones.Sam was a retired Lineman for South Central Bell with 40 years service, retiring in sunny Cape Coral, FL. Sam was a U. S. Army World War II Veteran, joining at age 14. He was a former member of the American Legion Post # 220, Moose Lodge of Cape Coral, FL, and the Marydale Mens Club and Little League, where he coached youth baseball and influenced the lives of many young men.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Neil (Bosse) Jones; and two sons, Keith Jones and Ben Coots.Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Pat (Kent) Jones; his children, Sam Jones Jr. (Dorothy), Debbie Garber (David), Kevin Jones (Cathy), Kim Smythe (Stephen), Karen Newton (Tommy), and Cyndi Sluman (Glenn); 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Buddy Bosse (Sue); and a sister-in-law, Gin Bosse.Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, with full military honors.
