JONES, SANDRA MARIE "SANDY KIEFER," 55, of Pleasure Ridge Park, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, surrounded by her family at Kindred Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Sandy graduated from Western High School in 1974 and worked at the Brown Cancer Center as a cancer researcher. She then worked at the Audubon Medical Building as an insurance claim agent and medical assistant. She enjoyed helping others in many ways but was best known for her listening skills and giving good advice. Many considered her as a second mom and she was proud of that title. She will be dearly missed by many people who loved her.
She will be greeted in Heaven by her son, Ben Jones; parents, Mary Sue and Walter Kiefer; mother-in-law, Rozella Jones; niece, Amber Kiefer; and many aunts, uncles and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Jones; son, Corey Jones; siblings, Jay Kiefer (Terri), John Kiefer (Kathy) and Susan Leder (Eric); brother-in-law, Larry Jones (Lucy); father-in-law, Lawrence Jones; nephews, Cody Kiefer (Lauren), Jeb Kiefer, Hunter Kiefer and Jacob Leder; nieces, Katie Kiefer, Erica Leder and Melissa Jones Campbell (Lee); great-niece and nephew, Addie and Kale Campbell; and a cherished extended family and friends, especially her Bardstown kids.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Monday
