Sandra Thornton

Sandra L. Thornton, 69, wife of the late George Ricky Maurice Thornton Sr., died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born February 17, 1947 in Louisville, Ky. the daughter of the late Percy & Catherine L. Jones Ross. Sandra was retired from ICI Americas (Indiana Army Ammunition Plant) and was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Angela Hochadel (Billy), sons, Gerald W. Holland, Anthony "Tony" Hecker (Oleta) and George Ricky M. Thornton Jr., sisters, Mary V. Ouldsidi, Carolyn Thacker and Wendy Thomas, brother, Percy Ross Jr. (Linda). 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces & nephews and her dear friend of 38 years, Hattie Dortch also survive.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
