Smith, Sharon "Rose" (Leister),
73, of Louisville lost her courageous battle with her illness Monday, July 28, 2014 in Hosparus Inpatient Unit Norton Healthcare, surround by her family.
She was born September the 5th 1940 in Louisville to the late Thelma and George Leister Sr.. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Louis C. Smith, she practiced her faith at Cloverleaf Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Paul Gulley (Lynda) and Louis Patrick "Pat" Smith; two grandchildren Derek Gulley (his mom Donna) and Suzanne Laird; great grandchild, Lachlan Laird; one brother George Leister (Donna), a great and loving nephew Shawn Leister; one aunt Nancy Ford, loving companion who never left her side Dink Eversole.
Beloved by her family, friends and neighbors, Sharon had a personality as big as her heart always willing to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. She enjoyed antiques, yard sales, gardening, church picnics, dancing, nights at Texas Roadhouse and mostly her family. Sharon lived life to the fullest until the very end. This special lady will be truly missed by so many.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 A.M. at Owen funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be Friday 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral Home.
