Shirley Mae Chandler, “The Dirt Lady”, 86, loving wife to William K. Chandler, passed away at her “Little Home” on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was born to the late Charles F. Baker and Hazel V. Baker (McGloshen) in Louisville, Kentucky on June 18, 1935.
She is also reunited with her husband of 58 years, William Kenneth Chandler, sister Carol Baker (Jackson), great granddaughter, Gracelyn Baker and great grandson Griffen Chandler.
Shirley was a school bus driver for JCPS for 29 years, and co-owner of Bill Chandler Excavating Company. She was a member of Beechland Baptist Church.
Shirley loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens and tending to her beautiful rose bushes.
Shirley is survived by her children, Michael Todd (Lesli), Kathy Jo, and Terry Lin Chandler (Lisa); along with grandchildren, Christopher, Stacey Baker (Andrew), Melissa Vance (Jonny), Brandon (Meagan) Chandler; great grandchildren, Kaedyn, Harper, Hudson, Henry, Kate, Wyatt.
