Stanley W. Crawley Jr. CRAWLEY, STANLEY W. JR., 88, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010, after a short hospital stay.
Stanley was a retired lab technician in research and development for American Standard, a lieutenant veteran during World War II in the Army Air Corps and a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. He was retired from Jefferson Co. Board of Education and Pinnellas/Pasco Co., Fla. Board of Education. He was a former deacon at Shively Baptist Church and also taught Sunday school at a church in Florida where he served as an elder.
He was a past Master of Day Light Lodge #760, the 1st and 50th Master of Shively Lodge #951, a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason which he was honored for in Washington, DC, and was a former superintendent and nursing home administrator for the former Masonic Widow's and Orphan's Home. Stanley was employed as secretary registrar of the KY Scottish Rite at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Crawley.
He is survived by his sons, S. Lee Crawley (Ann) and David W. Crawley; daughter, Phyllis Ross (Richard); brother, Frank D. Crawley; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Highlands. A Rose Croix and Masonic service will be held at 7 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Highlands.
