Steven Bemis

BEMIS, STEVEN LAWRENCE, 68. On September 28, 2013, God chose to take his child, Steven Lawrence Bemis to heaven to be with Him. He was born July 14, 1945 in Rockelm, WI, the son of the late Louis and Jeanette Bemis. He was a retired employee of CSX Railroad and a member of The Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Bonnie Bemis. He is survived by his children, Carol Renee Sasse and David Eric Bemis and his wife Kimberly; his beloved grandchildren, Jade Elexis and Victoria Grace; and brothers, Gerald Bemis and Lonnie Pierce. He is also survived by his chosen parents, Robert and Angeline Bemis and their children (who were like brothers and sisters), Roberta and Glen Stewart, Robert Jr. and Ellen Bemis, Sherry and Larry Robins, Stanley and Cheri Bemis, Cheryl Bemis Rose, Donna and Steve Stringer, Roxanne and John Beyer, and Charlotte and Tony Delong; two former wives, Carolyn June Eatherly and Betty Bemis; stepchildren, Beverly Gore, Vince Curtiss, Steve Curtiss, and Sally Pickard; and five stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday
