PURVIS, SYLVIA M., of Portland, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013. She was former Sylvia Holland, and a native of Ohio County, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecial E. Purvis; and daughter, Schela R. Sutton. Survivors: daughter, Janice Owens; sons, Norman, Nicky, Rickie and Dennis Purvis; brothers, Carl R., and John W. Holland; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Neurath-Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 West Market St. Burial: Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: Sunday, November 24, 2013 from noon until 8 p.m.
