NEWTON, THELMA, 85, of Highview, returned to her Heavenly Father Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Ms. Newton was born March 12, 1928 in Hart County, KY, to the late John and Okley Davis Skaggs and was member of Victory Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Susan L. O'Connell, Marsha G. Horn and James M. Stewart, II (Katie); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Junie McCarty (Helen); and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy., at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Schoppenhorst.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
