SKAGGS, THELMA CARTT, 90, of LaGrange, KY, was born May 19, 1920 to the late Frank and Rena Richards Davis in Richardsville, KY and returned to her Heavenly Father, April 25, 2011.
Mrs. Skaggs was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions of responsibility, was co-owner and operator of the old Mary Carter Paint Stores in New Albany, IN, Okolona and Iroquois Manor and the old Cartt's Dixie Manor Laundry Mat.
Among those who preceded her in death include her parents; her husbands, Bishop Charles Cartt and Herbert Skaggs; brothers, Nelson Davis (Loretta), Willard Davis (Evelyn) and Elwood Davis (Ruth); brother-in-law, A.T. Elkins; nephew, Tommy Davis; niece, Jo Ann Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Jessaline Elkins; brother, Larry Lee Davis (Minnie); special friends, Vickie Green and Tammy Burden; nieces and nephews, Beverly Schroader, Jerry Davis, Karen Carnes, Linda Edstrom, Leroy Davis, Barbara Oller, Susan Harris, Ronnie Davis, Darryl Davis, Gary Davis, Verna Russ and Cheryl Poteet; a host of grandnieces and grandnephews; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and friends.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road), with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst.
