Trauge William May, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born on November 24, 1959, to Don W. May and Evelyn Marie Mattingly May. Trauge’s life was filled with hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Trauge is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Terri E. May, and their children: Trauge W. May II (Tanya) and Crystal M. Haycraft (Trey). He is also survived by his sister, Pam Rhine of Pompano Beach, Florida, and his cherished grandchildren: Trauge William III, Blake M. Haycraft, and Hayden G. Haycraft, who brought him immense pride and joy.
A proud graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School’s Class of 1977, Trauge began his career at L&N Railroad, where he worked from 1978 to 1988. He later pursued truck driving, a profession he held with commitment and pride, culminating in 18 years with R&L Carrier.
Trauge was deeply loved by those who knew him, and his family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hosparus Health and Shawn Hazelwood for their compassionate care during his final days.
Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens West on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville in appreciation of the care and support they provided.
Trauge’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, loyalty, and the love he shared with his family will be carried on in the hearts of those he touched.
