Velma Ashby

ASHBY, VELMA MAY, 81, passed away on March 30, 2014. She was retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church and Eastern Star Amaranth for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ashby Sr. and son, William "Buzz" Ashby Jr.. Survivors include her son, John Mayfield (Maureen): grandchildren, Jeff, Stacie, Shawn and Jennifer and eight great-grandchildren. Her service will be noon Thursday at the W.G. Hardy Funeral Home and Cremation Services with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
