Velma Ann Fabel, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on April 25, 2022, at her residence. Velma was born in Green County Kentucky on December 14, 1942, to the late William Raymond and Sarah Elizabeth (Madden) Loyall.
Proceeding Velma in death were her parents; her stepfather Philip Regenauer; and her brothers James and William Loyall.
Velma is survived by her husband, James Edwin Fabel; her children, Jim (Mary) Fabel, Ronnie (Sherry) Fabel, Julie (Mike) Greene, and Kelli (Kent) Pierce; grandchildren, Christopher (Tammy) Fabel, Troi Lynn (Neil) Crawford, Kristen (TJ) Nelson, Abigail Fried, Michelle (Jacob) McBroom, Rebecca Fabel, Aaron Fabel, Jared Greene, Austin Fabel, Jordan Pierce and Ryan Fabel; 14 great grandchildren; her sisters, Clara Loyall Bracken, Linda Gassman, Cathy (Larry) Hall, Phyllis (Charlie) Combs and several nieces and nephews.
One of the greatest accomplishments of Velma’s life was her marriage to James on April 11, 1959, and they enjoyed 63 years together in marriage and building a family together.
Always one with the gift of gab and the love of speaking to others, Velma enjoyed going to the casino and playing slot machines, but mostly meeting new people and having conversations with them. Velma enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 10AM for Velma on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 12PM until 6PM at the funeral home.
