Veralee Hicks

Hicks, Vera Lee (Rothwell) View/Sign Guest Book HICKS, VERA LEE (ROTHWELL), 78, a native of Pennsboro, WV, passed away on January 31, 2009 in Fort Myers, FL. She was the co-owner of Hicks Equipment Inc., a member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church, former member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ and South Park Country Club. She was a graduate of Louisville Girls High School and attended the University of Louisville and a member of The Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a past president of the Methodist Evangelical Hospital Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at the Lord's Kitchen. She shared her residence between Pine Island, FL and Louisville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Hicks; and her sister, Earlene Wooldridge. She is survived by her children, Charlotte A. Tharp (Mark) and Scott F. Hicks (Michelle); sisters, Carolyn Genenwein and Judi Pritchard; grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha and Jackson Tharp and Caleb Hicks. A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is noon- 8 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kenwood Heights Christian Church.
