GEORGETOWN - Alvey, Verna M. , 80, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was the former Verna Hedden, a native of Spencer County, KY. She was a retired cashier for Kroger, where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by son, Dale Kersey; granddaughter, Shawnna Kersey; brother, Bill Hedden; and parents, Jesse and Mary Hedden.
Survivors: husband, Paul H. Alvey; son, Mark Kersey (Sandy); daughter, Peggy Craft (Jim); stepson, Pat Alvey (Tracey); stepdaughter, Christine Johnson (Doug); daughter-in-law, Susie Kersey ; two brothers, Kenny Hedden and Charlie Hedden; sister, Pam Price; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Saturday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Memorial service: 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is private at Louisville Memorial Gardens West
