Gibson, Vernon Gilliam View/Sign Guest Book GIBSON, VERNON GILLIAM , 78, returned to his Heavenly Father, Sunday, April 27, 2008. A native of Hart Co., Kentucky, he was a retired truck driver for Matlack Trucking. He was a member of the Masonic Shawnee Lodge, Teamsters Local 89, and Valley Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Anna Elizabeth Gibson; and wife, Thelma Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jones Gibson; children, Gary Gibson, Donna Conner, James Gibson and Michael Gibson; brothers, Herman Gibson Jr. and Scotty Blanton; sisters, Karen Hammond and Sheila Blanton; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and stepmother, Jessie Mae Gibson. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
