Virgil Edwards

EDWARDS, VIRGIL PORTER, 97, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 16, 2009 with loved ones by his side. Mr. Edwards was a retired mechanic for the George M. Eady Co. and a Army veteran of World War II and also a 50+ member of Operating Engineers Of America. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Edwards; wife, Alberta Shrader Edwards; sister, Mary Frances; brothers, Bob, Lawrence and Clifford Edwards; grandchild, Rodney; and a great-grandchild, Chloe. Mr. Edwards leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Jenny Sexton (Steve); son, Gary Edwards (Kathy); grandchildren, Karl Kadlec, Chad Sexton, Tracy Edwards and Joseph Edwards; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respect from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday. Services will be conducted noon Monday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Expression of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Louisville.
