Virginia Dennis

Virginia Sue (MOM) Dennis, 78, passed away on October 29, 2022. She was born on December 28, 1943, to the late Ben and Artie Embry, in Caneyville, Kentucky. Virginia retired from the house keeping department at the old Executive Hotel after many years of dedicated service. Virginia loved going to street rod shows and watching races with her late husband, Richard (POP), whom she was married to for 55 years. They loved to listen to 1950's and 1960's Rock and Roll while sitting on the porch and talking to friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing online games and word or number puzzles.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Raymond; siblings, Opal Tarrence, Vergie Casey, Ken Embry and Gail Bratcher.

She is survived by her children, Richard Dennis, Jr., (Chrissy) Michael Dennis and Angela Gammons (Roy); grandchildren, Matthew (Whitney), Leslea (Johnathan), Brayden, Kristan (Destin), Michael, Bryan (Lilly) and Jenna; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Gertie Garr and Veeda Embry.

Funeral services will be on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
