Chapman Sr., Walter Elmer "Buddy" View/Sign Guest Book CHAPMAN SR., WALTER ELMER "BUDDY," 87, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East. He was a retired time study engineer for International Harvester, a US Army Air Core veteran of World War II, a member of the 83rd Air Base Squadron, VFW Post 6269, American Legion Dixie Post 220, Mason Lodge, Marydale Club, a Kentucky Colonel, Shively Park Commissioner, and former Shively City Councilman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Gilbert Chapman; and sister, Lucille Hamm. He is survived by his wife, Edna Lucille (Mayes) Chapman; sons, Thomas E. and Walter E. "Tinker" Chapman (Patti); daughters, Phyllis I. Davis, Deborah L. Durham (Robert E.) and Jennifer L. Chapman; sister, Helen Moody; grandchildren, Bryan, Jeffrey and Neal Davis, Christy Gregor, Alison Durham, Meghan, Matthew, Ashley and Callie Chapman; four great-grandchildren; six nephews; and four nieces. His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hosparus of Louisville.
