Wenonah Lewis

LEWIS, WENONAH Y., 94, of St. Matthews returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Parkway Medical Center.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions of responsibility. Mrs. Lewis received her MA and BA at Western Kentucky State University and was a retired teacher for the Jefferson County Public Schools and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Harvey Lewis who passed away in 2001.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Lewis Dass, Lanna Lewis and Mignon Lewis; a son, Jerry Paul Lewis; sister, Sue Burks; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting for Mrs. Lewis will be Friday, 4-8 p.m. at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, Preston Highway at Brooks Road, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East
