HARROD, WILLIAM C. SR., 85, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010. He was a retired employee of Rohm & Haas, a former employee of LG & E, an avid U of K fan and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Harrod; and sisters, Dorris Jones and June Gibson.
Survivors include his children, Stephany Schwartz (John), Daniel Harrod (Lu Ann), Lisa Bickel (Jake) and Candice Riggle (Albert); 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary Harrod; sister, Leanne Marsili; and his devoted companion, Mary Virginia Mathews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society .
