William Hutchins

William G. "Bill" Hutchins, 85, originally from Holy Cross, KY passed away on May 2, 2013 in Louisville, KY after battling cancer.
Bill was born on November 3, 1927 in Holy Cross, KY, to the late Austin and Praxi (Ballard) Hutchins. He relocated to Louisville in the 1950's after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Bill retired from American Standard after 42 years of dedicated service and held second jobs at Pepsi Cola and Peerless Electronic.
Bill was known for working tirelessly and acting as a father figure to many besides his own eight children. He enjoyed his years as a baseball coach at St. Basil's Elementary School and was an active church member. In his retirement years he enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and close friends and listening to his children and grand children sing. Bill was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering for his grandchildren and the University of Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia Hudeen (Bradley) Hutchins and his eight children Gail Young (Rob), Debbie Fields (Pat), Brenda Alluisi (John), Michael Hutchins, Brad Hutchins, Daniel Hutchins (Joe), Stacy Carter (Bill), and Kelly Ennis, as well as eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his siblings, Mary Mildred Scharre, Mary Lavonne Hagan, Mary Corine Yates, Charles Randall, and Joseph Ronald, and their spouses and families, Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas Kenneth, Joseph Jasper, and Patrick Louis, and grandchildren Angela Ash ,and Eric Ash.
